Day 18 - A Day In Daejeon

Yesterday we went to KASI (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute) in Daejeon. To get to Daejeon it is a thirty minute drive from Cheongju and I drove there in Professor Han's black sports car. It had a black see through glass bubble roof and was fun to drive in. When we got there we went on a tour of KASI and it started to rain. We saw the solar weather laboratory, where they check the Sun to see if there are any solar flares. Then we went to the optics laboratory where they build instruments for telescopes and space satellites. It was called a clean room so we had to take off our shoes and put on slippers. Mum and Dad did talks so we just sat at the back eating Korean snacks and  playing with electronics. After the talks we saw some old astronomical devices. Next we went to dinner in a greenhouse with plants everywhere with the KASI astronomers. We had to cook our own food on the table with charcoal on fire.
